Data Security
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your Rights
Renue aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.
- Right to access, update or delete the information we have on you.
- Right of rectification if that information is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to object to our processing of your Personal Data.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time where we relied on your consent.
Location Data
- We collect precise location data from customers to set the service/booking address and to display the assigned detailer's live location and estimated arrival time on a map.
- For detailer (service provider) accounts specifically: we collect location data continuously, including while the app is running in the background, for the duration of an active booking — this powers real-time tracking for the customer. Background location collection stops once the booking is completed or cancelled.
- Location data is tied to the user's account and is not shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.
Payment & Financial Information
- We store the cardholder's name, the last 4 digits of the card number, and the card's expiration date.
- We store identifiers issued by our payment processor, Stripe: Payment Method ID, Stripe Customer/Account ID, Mandate ID, and Setup Intent ID.
- Full card numbers, CVV, and other sensitive card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- This data is used to process payments for bookings and to allow users to save a payment method for future use.
In-App Communication (Chat)
- We store the content of text messages exchanged between customers and detailers within the app, related to coordinating a booking.
- We store voice/audio messages that users record and send through the in-app chat feature.
- This data is used solely to facilitate communication between the two parties for a booking and is tied to the sending/receiving accounts.
Photos and User Content
- We store profile pictures uploaded by customers and detailers.
- We store vehicle photos uploaded as part of the booking/service process.
- [Confirm with dev: if chat supports image/file attachments, add: "and images or files shared through in-app chat."]
- This content is used to identify users and vehicles within the service and is tied to the uploading account.
Device Identifiers & Diagnostic Data
- We collect a device identifier/push token to deliver notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), tied to the user's account.
- We collect crash logs and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to identify and fix bugs and improve app stability. This diagnostic data is not linked to a specific named user identity.
Third-Party Processors
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google Firebase (Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) — crash reporting and push notifications.
- Google Maps — mapping and live location display.
